The trip that I wanted to go on the most turned out to be everything I could hope for.  Visiting Egypt and one of the seven wonders of the world is a lot of peoples dreams. One of my goals with this article is to help people understand it is a lot easier than most people would think.

1) Planning

Most of my trips that I go on I try to fly somewhere, get a vehicle, and be a little spontaneous. That wasn’t as much of an option in Egypt.

a) On arrival Visa – have cash

b)Plan the tour – I used Tourradar.com to find my tour. It was a great tool to sort through the specific details I wanted on my tour.

c)Pick the Tour company – I chose Encounters Travel and I was also lucky enough to get the tour guide “Big Mo” !!! best tour guide I have had anywhere in the world !!

d)Travel insurance – Travel insurance was mandatory for the tour group. It didnt cost that much and it gave me peace of mind in case anything got delayed or canceled.

e)I wanted to go to Egypt no matter what so I went by myself. Luckily with a tour group you always have people around and its very easy to make friends. There’s almost always someone else traveling by their self.

f)Season – one of the most important factors when deciding your trip is the season. Dont go during the hottest season. I went during Ramadan which sometimes made things difficult. I always go with the best flight prices I can find.

2) Detour – London, England

The second most important thing I like to do on my trips is to detour. On my way to Egypt I scheduled a half day layover in London. I had enough time to get out of the airport see the Royal Palace, Big Ben Clock, and a couple other things before having to go back.

3)Cairo, Egypt

I chose to arrive a day earlier than everyone else. I wanted to see as much as possible. After arriving you must go through the Egypt Tourist Visa process. Any extra questions feel free to contact me for more details. Then I made my way to the hotel. I had enough time to go visit various places around Cairo. Just me and the tour guide. He was very flexible. We were able to see the Mosque, a church and downtown Cairo market. I went back to the hotel and had enough time to go see the Pyramid and Sphinx Light show. It was definitely worth it.

4) Giza Plateau, Pyramids, Sphinx, and the old Cairo Museum

The next day I got to see the Pyramids. They give everyone a ticket for each place you visit. I would recommend collecting them. I had to pay a little extra but, I was able to go inside the Grand Pyramid. It is a little difficult to breath and the space is very tight.

You spend a little time at each pyramid. Then we went behind the pyramids for the view and an optional camel ride. When dealing with animals and tourists its important to do some research and talk to people if the animals are treated fairly before giving money. Then over to get a close up view of the Sphinx. It is always weird to realize that the city of Cairo is directly next to the pyramids.

After this we went to the Old Egyptian Museum. The new museum is completely built and operational as of 2022. It is now the largest museum in the world.

5) Train Trip to Aswan

After the Museum we got on the train to sleep and head to our next stop Aswan. Then a bus ride to a boat and then finally Phillae Temple.

Then a bus ride to our hotel with an amazing view of the Nile river. then a boat ride to the Nubian village. The traditional locals of the area. They are known for keeping crocodiles as pets in their living room. Eating a traditional style meal with them was one of the top experiences I would recommend in Egypt.
